ASEXUAL INTIMACIES

This study examines family and relationship experiences among people who identify as asexual (i.e. experience little to no sexual attraction) and/or aromantic (i.e. experience little to no romantic attraction).

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and confidential. You may withdraw from the study at any time. The risks of participating in this study are minimal, and while you may not directly benefit from participating in this study, the knowledge generated from the findings will benefit the asexual community and society as a whole.

Any identifiable information obtained in connection with this study will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission or as required by law. Only members of the research team who are certified by CITI Program to adhere to research ethics may access the data. All records will be stored on a password-secured Google Drive under the CSUSB license with multi-factor authentication enabled. Your name and contact information associated with these records will be replaced by an identifying number and/or pseudonym. A key document linking your name and contact information with your identifying number will be given a unique password and stored on a local computer, accessible only to the PI. The data obtained from this study will be kept indefinitely and may be used in future studies. If you do not want the data used in future studies, you cannot participate in this study.

The following survey questions are designed to learn more about potential interview participants. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. Once the survey is complete, you will be asked if you are willing to participate in a 1-2 hour interview with the PI. Due to limited resources, not all eligible volunteers will be contacted for an interview, but your willingness to participate is greatly appreciated.
